There is nothing like a good argument with strong claim and sufficient yet substantial evidence to support those claims. This is just what took place in Ms. Karr's English 12 class. Students had to choose an argumentative topic they felt passionate about, identify their stance, and create/support strong claims to prove their point in research papers. Once completed, students had to present a speech to their peers. Some of the topics were music can influence they we humans think, you can do well without God, Racial Slurs should be categorized under free speech, Walter Peyton was the best running back to ever exist, the death penalty should be abolished, Apple is better than Samsung, Abortion should be illegal, you can be successful without a high school diploma with hard work and dedication, God will reward you with heaven, but you have to make a conscious effort to live a good life, and etc. Overall, there is nothing like having a logical argument! |
